    Insect invasion in my D4

We spend a fair bit of time camping at remote customer sites with the D4 & caravan parked in long grass . The problem now is that ants & spiders have taken up residence in the D4. I found an ants nest in one of the wheel arch flares when I removed it to fit the winch. I recently had little ants appearing from behind the gear selector panel & out of the instrument cluster while driving to the next job. Tonight I had to evict a large Huntsman spider from inside the tailgate window. Who knows who else has taken up residence & what damage are they doing.

Anybody have any ideas about how to evict the wildlife & then remain insect free?

Keep the Huntsman! Every car needs a spider, and at least they don't build webs.

Damn, didn't know that. Maybe he crawled into the caravan when I evicted him from the car.

Ha. We were driving along one day on the highway in our old D2a when the next thing I knew a large Huntsman spider was walking up my forearm. It must have come out of the trim near the A pillar somewhere. After me jumping many feet high, (unfortunately the window was closed) it then proceeded up the B pillar and across the ceiling to the terror of the wife and kids. The kids took a swipe at it and nearly flicked it off the ceiling back onto us in the front! We were towing a large boat at the time and it was much fun keeping everything in a straight line with chaos in the vehicle and trying to pull over at the same time! The family exited the passenger side when we stopped and the spider was evicted out of the passenger door.

Now I know they are harmless, but it gave us something to talk about for a while.....
