Hi,
I think Westprint had the Halligans Bay road closed a week or so ago. Williams Creek pub should have the latest info.
Cheers
This may be the last opportunity to see Lake Eyre, in flood, for many years. I'm considering a trip tto see it then on to Wyndam, Darwin and possibly Doomadgee.
I'm looking for information about Lake Eyre please.

The lake was damp as at 29/5/18.
Keep an aye on this site, road status links on the right side too.
Lake Eyre YC - Current Lake Status
I did not think that it was a large influx of water at this stage - I suggest going to William Creek and having a flight over it
I was going off news reports that showed large amounts of water (obviously file footage) and stated that flooding of the lake was expected to last about three months.

Yes, I suspect it is "Lake Eyre has significant water in it again", not "Lake Eyre is full". Still a fairly rare event. I flew from Melbourne with a plane load of people from work in the early seventies to have a look at it.

Don't get too excited, the rumour mill is running higher than the fact mill.
I have it on good authority that little water is getting into Lake Eyre....I know many of the pastoralists out there.
Here is the latest report from the the Lake Eyre Yacht Club.

"The flood waters that have reached the lake at present are not enough to fill it completely."
I rest my case.

Lake Eyre is magnificent at any time. While it’s not the rare filling of the lake and there’s a chance you may not see much water, even a little water is enough bring it to life and if there’s some local rain the whole place will burst into bloom. I’d go if I could.
