    True, generaly accepted that if you see a dog, you shoot it. If its your dog that got shot, then maybe you should have kept it at home.

    Usually your neighbor's dogs are not a problem and a simple phone call will result in the dog being picked up quick smart as a good working dog is worth its weight in gold.
    In the OP's situation however the next doors dog is a menace and I would shoot it without any hesitations.

    It's been like 5 days since he posted he probably already has shot it lol it's probably bailed him up 3 times since 1st post!

    Ha Ha.
    No I havnt yet. In fact it hasnt been back since and I bought some cans of dog food and left them around the place and the unset trap to try and get him used to it.
    They are untouched except by the magpies and the peafowl
    On the bright side perhaps the owner has got wind of what I am up to and is now keeping it in at night

    Exactly,even on 12 000 acres we don’t use it anymore.
    The neighbours don’t either.

    We now have lots of foxes and cats around,but dogs haven’t been a problem for a good few years.
