Hi Guys,
I am planning on doing a 2-3 week trip next year. I do not care where i go but I want it to be exciting, picturesque and memorable. Can anyone suggest some places so I can mark them out and form a semi plan.
Yes its a rough rough plan at this stage. But I figure you have to start somewhere.

LOL,
Yes i know its vague. But I was meaning it to be. I have done the high country a few times and love it. But I really want somewhere to unwind. Somewhere to go that says WOW this is beautiful and takes your mind away from everyday life.
That is pretty vague in terms of everything.
Oodnadatta Track is doable in two weeks return from Melbourne. Throw in the Birdsville Track as well with the extra week.

If your heading that way, Alice springs for the Henley on Todd regatta. We fluked it time wise a few years ago, good few days and something different....

Hi Rick and sam,
this is exactly what i am looking for. Something out of the ordinary and gives the trip a purpose. as opposed to just gettting away. Yes its vague I get it. But I intended it to be so i could flourish out these treasures.![]()
Have a look through the trip reports section.
Bring your map book to Winter Wombat and ask around.
A trip up the Sandy Blight Junction Road? Magical country including the trip out through the western ranges.
Hi Chris,
That looks like an awesome trip. Could be a tad longer for me re living in Victoria. LOL
Thank you for the suggestion.
If you really want to get away from it all have a look at the
Croajingolong National Park in the far east of Gippsland.
Love planning trips - leave for Kings Canyon via Oodnadatta track on Friday. Should be about 7000 klicks all up.
