Best people mover around is the Kia Carnival if you're after space, but these aren't 'cool' so most families turn to a 4WD despite never planning to go offroad in them.

Apparently quite nicely. A guy at work can't help himself and now has 4 kids between the ages of 1 and 7. He gave up his SS Dunny Door and bough one just before number 4 arrived. He says it's really nice to drive but he feels like his balls have been cut off when he's driving it and is a little embarrassed by it but a good bit of kit none the less.

I've seen a few "new" Commodores. The don't look too bad. I wouldn't buy one. I think a Camry would be a better buy and I think the "new" Commodore fits into the "Camry" market real well.
GMH should have retired the "Commodore" name.
I love the big family sedans. RWD, FWD, 4WD, whatever. Something you could have with a big lazy eight.
My old Commodore has a HSV V8 motor in it. When younger (50,000km) it regularly returned 11.5l/100km but when it got up around the 500,000km mark it returned about 12.5l/100km. Had plenty of power, to boot.
I've replaced it with a Territory. Turbo six. 180,000km and it returns between 12 and 13l/100km. The aim is to replace it with one of the last XR8 sedans.
All vehicles have their place but I reckon the most versatile and comfortable vehicle is a big family sedan. I'm sorry to see them go.
Oh, and I reckon the SUV is a pox on society, even the Territory. They should all be banned.
Of course the car is not made by Peugeot (PSA) which owns Opel - the car is still made by Opel.
Just as our Landrovers are not made by Tata but are made by Jaguar Land Rover which is owned by Tata.

*Its quite well known its a Peugeot and this model was here in AU a number of years back with a Peugeot badge and sales we so dismal it was dropped.
*So "Holden" (a sales outlet only in Australia) is being supplied a vehicle with no connection to GM, which makes future supply somewhat suspect.
*Dwindling sales of "Holden" badged vehicles are at an all time historic low, which again brings into question future service and support if buying one of their vehicles.
*There is also a consistent change in models as each model fails in sales, Captiva (built in ex Daewoo factory), is now a Equinox built in Mexico.
So many other betters brands out there....

"This model was here in AU a number of years back with a Peugeot Badge"?........I don't think so, but if you could give me a link to the car / period "a number of years back",....ie show me the Aussie car, as it was at the time when it was here "a number of years back", I'd be interested to see that car.
