Hmmm....I will ignore OI baited hook

From our recent travels we reckon the Defender owners are even slacking off in the waving department.
I think everyone is slacking off. I rarely get waves from anyone anymore. This is bad for two reasons. 1) no one waves, 2) Stacey gets to sit there and say- "you realise everyone thinks you are an idiot"

Thats funny Matt, when driving the Prado (very occasionally) the missus says the same to me because I'm in a Toyota not the landy.

I wave at ANYTHING with Land Rover badge!

SO many soccor mums in Freelanders look at me like I am some idiot, but one day I will wave at a soccor mum that wishes she was in a Disco and wave back.

Then there is always the old man towing his 20 foot caravan in his Disco, thats waving at you coming towards him. Some of these old guys have incredible eye sight for their age, spotting other Land Rovers and waving from miles away. I like to wind down the window and wave BIG to these old guys!

Then there are the guys with Fenders with the bull bar, spotties, lifted, muddies and covered in prime aussie terra firma, that only lift a single finger off the steering wheel as you pass them. They don't need to make a gesture, you know, that they know, that you know, what they know.

Then there drivers like me, who have got three boys, and likes to run up the beach camping and fishing every chance he gets. My second eldest boy counts how many Land Rovers he sees when ever we go out. By model too I might add...Discos, Freelanders, Fenders, RR etc. And every time he sees one, it's like he has never see one before. He will then inform you if it's an older or newer model and "most prolly got a (insert engine type here) in it,....most prolly", providing he can't see the back end of it.

If you miss a wave at anything with a Land Rover badge with this 8 year old in the car, be prepared for a grilling. And under NO curcumstances refer to any as a "Land Drover"! A swift and effective course in correct english language will be administered!

BTW back on topic, the boy just informs me, "You are by far more likely to receive a return wave on the highway, on account of all the shopping trolleys around town!"

    His words not mine.

I waved at an old Thai bloke on a bicycle the other day. He was so startled ("Why is that foreigner waving at me?") that he fell off his bicycle!

Like last time this topic was raised the 130 I pass regurly on my daily run. The missus waves enthusiasticly back to me but when the bloke is driving I get this glare. She will even wave when they are both in it so maybe he thinks something is going un between us
I look at all the Landy Rovers I see and wave back to those that wave. I do automatically wave to all series and defenders though.

i actually got a wave from another rangie driver today!

i was stopped at the lights coming off the charlestown bypass, just day dreaming, and i saw a red 4 door rangie with green P plates turning across infront of me it didn't register what was going on untill he waved! i waved back, but i don't think he saw...

i usually wave at all LRs, if i see them (or i actually realise they're there), but rarely get a wave back...

    cheers,
    bryce

Duff to save confusion why don't you develop a wave for each type of fourby you pass - e.g. for Landrovers ( all types ) Regal wave, Toys and ****ans middle finger and the rest a raised palm How's that?

    Very funny

It would be good if all 4wd drivers would just wave as a sign of good AUSSIE mateship and friendship like the boaties do.
