I have one of those with
383 Chev, headers, pto winch, arb front bar, ultimate suspension, 4 wheel discs, 200 litre arb fuel tank, 140 litre gas tank, recaro drivers seat, roll bar/cargo barrier, dual batteries, kaymar rear bar and wheel carrier, front and rear diff locks, air con, air con compressor for air pump with receiver from a truck.
Its not a bad thing but its rough compared to a rover. Gets along and stops very nicely though.

First: WHY have you got one ?

Second: I suppose we'd better see a few pics then.[/b][/quote]

First, I have one because it belonged to a very good friend. he bought it new in 78 or 79 and proceeded to modify it to suit his needs. at one time the present motor was a really hot 350 and would easily cruise at 160 k/h. It has wound the speedo back to zero at a guestimated 200 or so which was a little scary considering at the time it had cross ply jeep service tyres. My mate died suddenly about 5.5 years ago and his family gave me his cruiser.
It sits in my mothers garage most of the time and my brother uses it on 4wd trips. Even all that power cant beat the comfort of a Rangie. I must be getting old or something.

Pics, dont have any worth posting and I cant be bothered with posting pics anyway.

Before you guys get too carried away about the old 55, I might like to advise that the most famous Land Rover driver of all time, the legendary Len Beadle owned one. Must have reminded him of his old series 1 for ride and comfort.
