Oh yeah i didnt think of that.
Ok so an experiment is needed. How about a soft sand challenge . Stockton beach waters edge on an incoming tide.
We would probably both end up on youtube!!![]()
Hi
That's because the D4 goes faster than the TD5. The TD5 might be 1995 kg rest mass but the if the D4 was lighter, say 1900 kg and travels at about 0.64 x c (c=speed of light) then its mass will increase to:
which is 2580 kg. Thus a lighter and faster D4 can appear to be more massive than a defender at rest on the weighbridge.Code:1990 kg ----------- sqrt(1-v2/c2)

Maybe you got that one crossed up
The statement was they are a extremely capable vehicle in standard form
You should not flap your gums when you have not seen one in real life action
By the way all those tossers in the vids you talk about are simply that tossers with NFI
Search a bit deeper and there are plenty of vids with very capable d3,s and d4`s doing as they should do .

As much as i despise this Turkey![]()
I wouldn’t be judging the ability of any make or model on these vids......a good percentage of them would be first timers, on sand with no knowledge, and have just watched an experienced person float across the sand to the barge. By the time there adventure is over hopefully they are a little wiser
Pretty sure I spotted a disco sport cruising around bogged cars......that proves modern cars are just as capable as a D1 in that location.
I’ve late I’ve been showing/explaining basic traction on dual cabs to employees and contractors as they have no idea how to use it in real life
one contractor was blown away as he was about to start digging and manual handling/physical effort these days is a no no on the job site, him and his mate were blown away.....
In there defence they have never been shown and or practiced it and even if they read the manual it’s not the easiest to apply first time round.
Either way,....I do giggle at late model landy’s gettin stuck....
Mate, ppl LOVE putting the boot into us Disco drivers... I agree with others here.. these ppl are probably inexperienced... I just came back from Fraser and the amount of jokers getting stuck in any vehicle simply because they haven’t let their tyres down was phenomenal..... One bloke in an Isuzu told me he had let his tyres down, when I put the deflator on for him, he still had 30psi!!! No wonder they sink.... lol
For the record our Disco 4 travelled the length and breadth of K’gari (Fraser Is) untroubled... including Inskip Point.....
.
I’ve on the odd time selected the wrong gear.....**** happens.
If it was his first time on sand with zero experience and not lucky enough to have somebody give him tips, plus the stress of being bogged, holding up traffic, every man and his dog telling him what to do, 1/2 doz people with camera videoing him.....so he selected the wrong gear. Did he get recovered.
.
.
its been a while since I have checked the face book page....
no landies.......but there is coupl eof amusing ones, especially the jeeps. oh and one tosser not being the kindest to his bride
