And to think of the 3900 reactions, every one is a thumbs up, laugh or heart. Not a single wow, sad or angry.

This no different to many river crossings and flooded areas of roads that are common in our north during the "Wet"
Most of the flooding up north is fresh water, the issue here is its salt water.
Big difference in the way it will damage the vehicle in the short term.

A lot of ex mine site vehicles are the same as they use salty water on the haul roads to bind the dust. But try telling that to the truly nut case Tojo lovers and hear what they say.

This my favourite piece of advice, which I hand out to anyone who is sensible enough to ask regarding most 4wd situations.

Driving on any beach between the high and low watermark will be the same as driving on these haul roads which will require a GOOD hosing out of the underneath or your 4WD to get rid of the salt/sand especially if you have driven through the wet areas of the beach or have been unfortunate enough to get bogged in damp sand.
The easy way I do this is to park on the lawn and set a couple of sprinklers up UNDER the vehicle and let them run for 15-20min

I agree but you're lucky to be able to do that!

It used to be trendy to drive around town here with 5 post bullbars,
then it became hi-vis kit when the mines took off,
now everybody drives around with 1000litre IBC shuttles as they cart water!
    Cheers

What! No dog cages in your neck of the woods? All the rage up here, dog or not.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Yep an old and good trick. But also put the hose in the chassis rails at each opening for a couple of mins also. 20 years of beach driving in my d2 and not a hint of rust. Cheers
