Ok I'm sure someone here lives near or knows of Barrington Tops.
We are heading down to a cottage place down that way for our honeymoon (my lovely sister paying !) and will probably take the Rangie. (Unfortunately she;s not chipping in the $ for the petrol, though!).
Given we've been together 11 years we will probably have SOME time to do a bit of sightseeing and so on.
Are there any places that we could drive by oursleves (ie not needing a heap of vehicles, and pretty sedtae stuff so unlikely to need assisted recovery) :?: If so do we need to pre-arrnage any permits ?
Just a thought at this stage - in truth we'll probably end up spending our timebetween the cottage and I think there are some wineries in the area ?
Oh, and I;m under STRICT instructins that there are to be no AULRO functions on this trip.![]()
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Went through at the beginning of March. Unfortunately didn't do anything along the way except stop at the bottom to tighten a loose fuel injector and to feed the babies at the other end.
High, cool, the turbo loved it.

Apart from mountain bike riding, Barrington always makes me laugh. We rode past this on the Eastern side of the plataeu. It's signposted as "the rock".

Excuse my ignorance but is Barrington Tops Vic High country, and where exactly? Looking to do a ski trip this August or next and wanting to know if these huts are rentable or useable or what? Pic's were obviously not winter otherwise the Rug Rats would not have been swimming unless that was some form of cruel and unusual punishment.
But seriously can you book the huts etc. and are they accessable during winter. Please realise that I am a Queenslander and am not used to the cold of the Alps but would like to experience it.
Cheers,
Charlie
No, Barrington is mid NSW near/between Glouster and Scone. Most of it is closed during the winter.
