Landrover to the rescue!
Drove the 2a down to the village through next door's this morning. On the return trip, very pleased to see most of the gates open (there are seven of them), presumably my neighbour hand feeding his cattle. Came to Spring Ck, which has a very sandy crossing - and there he is, or at least his No.2 son and his small son, back wheels down to the axle on the 4 tonne truck (several 'big bales' on the back), and shovelling sand.
I drove round him and pulled up about 3m in front. By the time I got out, planning to get my chain out of the back, he was already hooking up a heavy load strap. Just put the 2a in 1st/low, and pulled him out. Got cordial thanks, and the comment - saved us a long walk (about three kilometres).
No camera unfortunately, and the whole episode took less than five minutes.
