The real workplace health and safety issue at Bunnings isn't onions, but aisles partly blocked by product displays and pallets and what goes on in the trades area with customers loading stuff on their vehicles and trailers, I reckon.
We can joke all we like, but the fact is those who take advantage of the Bunnings sausage sizzle can take home over $ 1000 to their organisation each day. And sometimes more. Been there, done that. If they want the onions on the bottom, not a problem.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
Yes, it's a lifeline to many groups.
I'm on the "Bunnings BBQ" Team for our Anglican Church. It's a pretty good way of raising a few dollars, especially as in our case, when every dollar counts.
We also do a Mitre 10 BBQ, but the Bunnings BBQ is the one to be on. You're flat out all day, we usually have 3 teams of 6 people each, I like to do the cooking. "Onions on the bottom" is simply rubbish, but if it has to be done, we'll do it. We also used to provide cheese, but for some reason that's no longer allowed. Our safety standards are high, we have the proper certificates, wear rubber gloves etc, and usually clear $2k+. Members of our congregation donate the sausages & onions etc.
Pickles.
NB: My own personal view "taste" is that the onions taste better on top, that's the way I like 'em, smothered with mustard. Some like tomato sauce, but when I'm cooking, I always suggest mustard, particularly with onions,...some agree, and some like tomato sauce!...but I definitely think the onions are best on top,..if the sausage is on top, the onion taste is sort of "smothered" by the sausage?....Just IMHO.
Well yeah, but the committees of the community groups are all in their 70's, 80's and 90's and aren't being replaced by younger members.
I wouldn't dream of it. But with many Moderns thinking like this
traditional communities are all on death watch.
