    The safety police will come... Given these scooters are illegal in most cities in Australia because of laws designed to govern the dinosaurs, it’s only when legislation finally catches up will we see a raft of ‘safety’ measures implemented alongside.

    AFAIK the major reason many people gave for not supporting the city bikes was the need to wear a helmet. Not many carry a bike helmet in their pocket, nor wish to use one that someone else has been sweating in.
    Sounds like these may head the same way, if the OHS nazis get their way.
