Next door neighbours applied to build a carport, Council replied no house existed on that land.Turns out, all paper records were stored in a basement in town, and were wiped out in the big Brisbane floods. It happens.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Last week I went to Caboolture transport dept, to register a new camper trailer. Thursday lunch time. Breezed thru, couldn't believe it, what they have done is separate new registrations from other business. Inspection and rego done within the hour. Not only that, I left my paperwork needed for insurance at the transport office, they rang me and posted it to me , free of charge. And the people there were polite, and helpful.

Agreed. I renewed my licence recently. The transport office people at Woodridge were very helpful and efficient. Excellent public servants.

When we bought our Maleny house a legal search found the Sunshine Coast Council did not hold any records of what's inside the building, as the records disappeared during an amalgamation.
Quite accidentally we later acquired the original plans of the house from a previous owner.
So we know more about the house than the council. Very useful during renovations.

Best to go to a Centrewank office after 2.00 pm. Full staff on duty as all have now had lunch. The benos who have to lodge unemployment forms in person are told to get them in before noon if they wish to be paid in that night's run and have money next day. Later lodgements could miss that days overnight run and not be paid until the following day. After 2.00 pm there are not that many clients still hanging around. One way to get action is to write a short letter to the Regional Manager asking for an appointment to see a XXXXXX officer, copy to your local MHR and to the minister's office.
