....or even small narrow tail sections? Now, if they had the arse end of a C130 just think how much more PAX & freight they could fit in.

Friend of mine used to fly regularly around Africa. He tells stories of times they loaded up the tail ramp of aircraft with boxes of chickens, luggage, pigs etc, then when the ramp was raised it all fell into the cabin.

(I'm assuming he's not pulling my leg)

I knew a former USAAC WW2 pilot who flew DC3's for Flying Tiger Line in Africa and Middle East. He used to tell stories about flying pilgrims on the Haj from West Africa to Saudi in the 50's. No seats, pack 'em in like the rush hour subway keeping an eye on the ambient temperature to ensure the poor old gooney bird could take off. Then hose out the bird after dumping them on whatever airstrip was the destination. He reckoned the pilgrims would try to bring goats, chickens, and firewood on board for consumption on the trip.

I bet they were not the only things they left behind either. A job for a big Karcher I reckon.

You’re not thinking big enough - civy version of a C-17... Double decker, mass boarding and departure from the rear... 😆

Hmmm, would give my left nut for a fly in a C-17... Who do I have to sleep with to make that happen - Airshow is just around the corner.... 😆

I'm not sure with whom now but, a couple of years ago, you could have scored with Bronnie Bishop and got a chopper ride!
