Who’s given their Travel Buddy a run.....

    1st attempt for us tonight

Pork with carrots and sweet potatoes.....

    2 1/2 hrs at 175 ish degree

    A couple of learnings

    - max temp for roasts
    - cut veggies a little smaller
    - allow extra time.....not a quick as the fan forced oven in the kitchen at home.
    - get cracking on making oven trays.

Just checked the battery....12.53v, pretty happy with that after 2 1/2 hrs

This was a bench test in the garage......so no fridge or lights drawing power.

Nice! I've only tried sausage rolls, pies and chicken nuggets for my sons. The only down side is cooking whilst driving. Food came out pretty beaten up.

Trays might help. I had more success when the vehicle was parked.

I've only used max temp each time. I kept an eye on the batteries whilst the car was stationery but with the waeco fridge/freezer working hard in 33+ degree heat plus with the 120w solar panel connected, I had no real change in the battery voltage.

I've done a few roast mainly using ovens bags and my trays i make.
Have also done baked potatoes wrapped in foil worked out perfect 2 at the door were a little hard so some rotation would be needed. Have done pizza. Butterflied chicken gozlemes, enchiladas etc.

Have been thinking about doing a banana bread in it think it would work out fine and usually a good way to use them up

When we do big trips we use them alot with precooked foil tray meals for our lunches let's you have a somewhat healthier lunch than just pies, sasauge rolls etc.

The real test is if they can produce Chocolate Mug Cake and Sticky Date Pudding. My microwave at home and my camp oven both manage that.

Well....the salsa was on the bench and I forgot to ad it

Re-fried beans, as I’m the only one in the family who likes them, if I don’t don’t do the shopping thanks they don’t get brought.
