we would be far better off in tassie if they cut the bloody cable, we have seen our dams drop rapidly when the mainland is wanting power, then we had to get bloody diesel generaters in to power tassie.

Remember that the cable also includes the main internet connection to Tassie!

Just remember who made the call to empty the dams in the first place to provide said power to the mainland. You'll need to look closer to home for that one. Horror heatwave blackout fears for Victoria

    Huh.
my understanding is that was all because the inter connector failed so Tassie was on its own.
Under normal circumstances the mainland would have covered the shortfall due to drought.
    so no conspiracy in it.

Our dams were sucked dry well before the connector failed, if the connecter wasnt there our dams would have still held the capacidy to deal with the lack of inflows from the catchments
    cheers

Other way around on this one. Dams were drained to supply power to the mainland and fill the local coffers. Plan was that if the rain didn't come they'd buy power back to fill the shortfall. Late rain and the failed interconnector meant 100's of MW of diesel gensets has to be bought in while it was fixed. Was greed and bad planning that causes it.

Doesn't that seem to be the Human condition.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Had it worked they would have given themselves a big pat on the back. It was a series of unfortunate events of course. The inter connectors between all states ( except WA of course) are a fairly weak link

    List of constraints here
