    I'm not sure if our plumber's light duties include hooking up the pipes for our new sink. He might put his son on the job and supervise. I've always wondered.

    I would suggest it is because they know how far that they can push it (no pun intended ) before it craps itself & he/she is then in the brown stuff.
    No doubt some real inept ones get caught short & regret it.
