Consensus is also that average annual temperatures are just going to keep rising, to at least 4 degrees hotter by the end of the century.
In Australia the desert will just keep spreading and the coastal green strip will keep shrinking, particularly if it is repeatedly ravaged by bush fires.

Time to think about pulling back on our "Foreign Aid" & look after #1. Charity begins at home & we are all going to need it, not some country that can afford to build Nuclear Weapons & other War Materiels & has publically stated doesn't need aid.

Yes they do. Renewables are a huge new industry which is already creating a huge number of jobs.
We failed to exploit Australian research which was taken to China and turned into the world's largest manufacturer of solar panels. Now we're failing to grab the chance to expand our existing battery manufacturing industry to make lithium batteries.
We've got to go beyond the 'dig it up and ship it out' mentality and manufacture more of our needs for export. It may be hard, but some companies do it successfully and we need to get serious and realise we can no longer rely on being lucky.

Trying to do something that can not be done well, efficiently or dare I say it economically will not in the current GDP driven world work.
The model of living somewhere and having it all is outdated. Heck the model of living in one place is completely outdated.
I'm sure the technology will keep improving. My point was we should be making it here instead of importing.
There's no point complaining that the Chinese make everything now if we sit on our bums and do nothing to compete.
