Speaking of mental illness, denying reality is a major symptom of mental illness, so if anyone may be mentally ill, it's those who deny the reality of climate change, or who are cynically lying for political reasons.
I'm not talking about you of course, but there are some denialists who have clearly lost touch with reality.
Climate change is reality, it's the new normal. Denying reality is dangerous.

Here's a simple example of how manufacturing decisions can reduce emissions while creating jobs.
The solar panels currently going on our roof are REC Twin Peak 2 monos. They are made in Norway using hydro-electric power, rather than coal. Because they are made using hydro electric power they are certified in Europe as having a low carbon footprint and not subject to tariffs which are imposed on panels made with coal power. So, going for renewable power has given them a competitive advantage.
They're also divided into top and bottom halves within each panel, so if the bottom half was shaded because of trees and switched off, the top half could still work if in sunlight. They also have bypass diodes on the columns within each half, so if part of a half was shaded and switched off, the remaining columns in the half could still work.
There is no reason why Australia could not manufacture these panels, using our competitive edge in energy and our natural resources. They are also made in Singapore, which has no natural resources and is a higher cost country than Australia.
We need to get smarter about this stuff.

It is a common tactic of those who are rabid about climate change such as Extinction Rebellion etc to just name call instead of joining into a discussion.
As soon as I hear "denialist" I think this poster has a closed mind.

Nobody here denies the climate is changing.

The causes are still up for debate by such luminaries as Judith Curry who states that we still do not know enough about the causes .

There are several facts that support this. Clouds/water vapour have been recognized as the greatest force in climate change yet are not considered in any of the computer projections or IPCC reports. The effects of CO2 increase ignore the beneficial effects of increased plant growth which have seen Earths tree coverage increase greatly.

A denialist is someone who denies. That's not name-calling, it's just a fact.

Also, while it's right there is lot of water vapour up there, that doesn't refute climate change. Water vapour actually increases the warming effect of CO2, so it causes more warming, not less.

Climate Change is the OLD normal. It’s just the NEW catch topic.

In all our lives (everyone here) the climate has been changing.

Pattern Shift and events are very different to 30-40 years ago, which according to those much older than me are very different to 60-70 years ago.

As a young guy I remember constant weeks of 38-39c with no respite or variation. I remember far less humidity in Sydney also.
