I find it really interesting from a psych POV how anthropogenic climate change has become a political right/left thing in Australia, the US and Canada, whereas in the rest of the world the majority of conservatives and progressives agree with what the climate scientists are presenting, and it appears it's only conspiracy theorists that are denying the evidence.
This is the kind of ludicrous misinformation that does nothing for the integrity of the science in climate science
Australia average temperature HASN'T increased by 1.5° in the past century .. where ever you read this, I'd suggest you them from now on.
Aust average mean temp is the same as the rest of the globe.
What you've seen/read in your comment is that 2019 was 1.5°C hotter than average.
Once again, you've read the hype, and not the science.
BoM use the 1961-1999 baseline as the 'zero point' when measuring average temperatures. Just happened that 2019 was 1.5°C warmer than this baseline.
Not the same thing as Australia's average temp has risen by 1.5°C.
2020 should be a cooler year, and if the pattern repeats again .. by between 1-1.5°C.
Of course no one can predict this next event ... how much or when exactly but this should happen, either 2020 or 2021, should be cooler for maybe 2-3 years, then a gradual increase again from there which will culminate as a drought somewhere else in Aus in about 8 to 10 years. And of course that drought will no doubt be blamed on 'climate change' .. again! [bighmmm]
And as already noted elsewhere 'local weather' isn't climate change ... or is it now just because it's hotter last year then other years?
The argument either holds for all scenarios, or it doesn't. You can't selectively use it at will ... and this is where the hype stems from.
We've been above mean average annual temperature every year for two decades, so it's not hard to predict what's likely to happen - it's just going to keep getting hotter.

I would have thought the BOM would know what they're talking about. This is where that info it from. Their data doesn't support your comments.
