And if you look at the BoM data, this past Jan(ie. 2020) was back down to normal modern era mean temps.
So while all the world had got hotter, and immediately after a massive fire period, January in Australia didn't follow suit!

Make of that whatever you like.

The Indian Ocean Dipole returned to normal, after being out of whack for a long time, causing the drought here and floods in Africa.

Dump it on the WA wheat belt where they are already growing crops on a mix of sand, salt, chemicals.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

WA farmers have been doing it tough for decades and have been largely successful in their endeavours despite much lower/less reliable rainfall and less productive land than their eastern state counterparts other wise how can they Always find a way to send free fodder to the eastern states on a regular basis and you want to destroy that ??

Sort of defeats the purpose of going carbon neutral doesn't it

It suits some people to argue that even if the climate changes, it will simply mean that we will have to crank our air conditioner up a bit to remain comfortable.
They want to argue that the only effect will be a slight rise in temperature and that a little discomfort for humans will be the only result.
Things are rarely that simple. Often one change leads to further changes.
This article suggests that it could have a $10bn impact on the Australian economy.

Underwater forests threatened by future climate change, new study finds: Fisheries potentially at risk if global kelp forests decline -- ScienceDaily

This could impact kelp forests around the world. For example, it could contribute to further declines of the 8000km long kelp forests that dominate the bottom half of Australia -- known as the Great Southern Reef -- potentially affecting all the associated ecosystems, including many species of fish, shellfish, lobster and abalone.
"If we lose the kelp forests, we also lose our two biggest fisheries," said Dr Ziggy Marzinelli, lecturer in Marine Temperate Reef Ecology in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences.
The cooler water kelp forests support a significant component of Australia's fisheries and is estimated to be worth over $10bn to the Australian economy.
There are already examples of insects that are threatened because of very small increases in temperature.

For those who think it doesn't matter if a few insects disappear, consider what happened back in the 70s when eucalypt dieback was a real problem. There were a number of factors contributing to dieback. One of them was insect attack. Generally if a tree lost more than 50% of its foliage two years in a row, it was unlikely to survive.

In one area near Boorowa, the main factor leading to eucalypt dieback was the clearing of some prickly, scrubby plant that was considered a bit of a pest. The connection was that the beetles that attacked the eucalypts were kept in check by possums. During the season when the beetles were not available, something in the scrub that had been cleared provided a substitute food source. When that alternative food source was no longer available, the possums moved to another area and left the trees vulnerable to insect attack.
So, clearing the prickly bush led to the death of trees.

While that incident has nothing to do with climate change, it illustrates the fact that changes can have far reaching consequences.

So if the climate changes, it will mean a lot more than humans having to get used to different temperatures.

Want to fight climate change? Stop believing those myths that hinder progress. From Mark Jaccard's new book, " the citizens guide to climate success. " He even argues fossil fuels are not altogether evil.
