I guess it doesn’t count on a motoring forum when it’s cloaked in obscure right-wing ranting?
Well, you have had your say too, haven't you? You have asked for intervention from the mods before. Report what you believe to be outside the scope of discussion here, let them deal with it according to the site's policies. Or you could stop ranting yourself.

Climate change can certainly bring down civilisations. It appears that's why the Assyrian empire collapsed after 300 years - megadroughts caused famines. Could that be happening right now in good old Oz?

Climate change may be behind fall of ancient empire, say researchers

I rejected the idea of reporting a post in this thread as a personal attack because I think the poster has damaged his own reputation anyway by his behaviour, without needing any input from me, plus I'm generally in favour of free speech - I'd rather win the argument by logic than by compulsion.

That makes perfect sense. Natural events and shifts in conditions altering ability to remain habitable.

Nowadays with Desalination plants and other technology there would be strong potential to maintain water supply and irrigate.

Obviously this doesn’t account for any poor agricultural practices rendering the area barren.

There is a theory the Roman Empire fragmented because climate change in northern Africa dried up the sources of the food on which Romans depended, since Italian farmers couldn't produce enough food to support the population, but I'm not sure about that.

In Queensland, 95% of the land in the state is used for agriculture, including 80% for grazing. However this is a very low intensity landuse in most of the state and has caused serious damage to large areas, much greater than mining, for example.

To adapt to climate change in a state in which droughts are now normal as the interior dries, we may have to shift to more intensive farming methods, reserving scarce water supplies to grow vegetables and other food crops.
Cattle farming may become unviable in many areas. That will be a mental challenge for some people to accept, but ranting about Greenies doesn't cut it any more, in the real world.
