While the rest of Australia runs out of water, the Ord River scheme doesn't use it's full allocation. The dept. of Water and Environmental regulation wish to cut the allocation by 30%.

We had our 1st rain since May yesterday , rained for about 3/4hr moderately heavy. Guess I will need to get the mower ready for the growth, that is if the grass isn't completely dead. Have only tad to mow about 6 times in the last 12 months & that was only to mow the weeds.[bighmmm]

I'm pretty sure my mower has not been started for over a year.

Water wars are not a crazy idea any more. Already we have Australians fighting over water allocations, towns versus farmers versus environmentalists, politicians needing police protection to visit areas in drought and protesters invading parliament to abuse Ministers. This isn't idle speculation - it's actually happening now.
