    Hi 1950Landy,

I only had one done nearly two years ago. Never had the sickness issues you are having...thankfully.

Ice I found was my friend....really helped with pain.

I like the comments about using different parts of your body to move around....brings back a memory or two. You go to do a everyday event to find out you cannot do that. questioning yourself on how the bloody hell am I going to do that?

I had a bar above the bed which was great for using your upper body to move in the bed.

I remember one big lady who would thrash me walk8ng along the corridor when we done are delay walk exercises....obviously a week or two ahead of me.
I found gett8ng the knees to work....or more the muscles took time and tired me out. But was w lol worth the effort to do them as instructed and at the time interval.

When you get to walking outside. Watch out for the walk being up hill. I found many pavements around where I lived where actually slightly uphill, (or down hill depending which way you were travelling), even though they looked level. The extra effort in lifting the legs up tires you out much quicker than walking down hill. Got caught out the first time or tw.
    Goo luck with your recovery

Thankfs aa lot. Just wish I would ha e had more time to get some weight off would have made things easer. Going to the pre OP clinic was a plus learning some of things that you learn post OP. Every time I drop some thing in bed it is always just far enough away that I can not reach it so then need to work out how I am going to do it with out getting out of bed.

Now ain’t that the truth! I purchased one of those paper pick up things....always found it was in the wrong place when needed...but handy when it was close By!

Also found the shower chair with arm rests to be great to. When you are doing the leg stretches/bends you can adjust the chair leg height to your requirements.

    Hope your progress goes well!

The over toilet chair in the hospital toilet is not designed for men it won't go back far enough it hits on the cyasten, so the front is 100mm in fronr of the toilet so when you pee it goese on the floor instead of in the toilet. The nurses tell me it designed by s women & works well for them

Came home before lunch today . Got Son In Law to put my bed up on a couple of pavers around 100mm so I could get in & out of bed & set up toilet & shower seats. Then sent him off to chemist to buy a pee bottle so I don't have to get out of bed during the night to have a pee.
I then settled down to watch the V8's fel a sleep before they grided up so missed the start & woke 2 laps before the finish so did get to see the good result Ford 1st & 2nd.
