Yeah let's help those who need help. Get rid of the employment restart agents.
Roll out cashless welfare card nationwide. And also mandatory drug test.
I think no body thinks welfare is not necessary. It's just I don't think we are entitled to tax payer funded entertainment
Clearly tax payers are currently paying for the entertainment of private so-called 'job provider organisations', with little of these resources actually going to jobseekers.
A living wage for all Australians earning under $150k per year would totally nullify this, create much more of a level playing field, and save tax payers money.

There are examples of people having their benefits cut off because they missed an appointment because they were seeking a job or were studying at TAFE.
I don't know much but I believe welfare should not be considered as a source of income.
In that sense welfare payment is not a good idea. Welfare should be about meeting basic need, the minimal of a wellbeing, I.e. food and shelter.
Let's be honest, welfare payment for not working have impact on all of us. It affects our work incentives
It affects me as the tax is high. The more I work the less I got paid, reducing my incentives to produce.
It affext those who are on newatart obviously. Not to mention the work credit system, where
for every dollar the unemployment benefit recipient earns the payment is decreased by an equivalent amount.* as if they got "punished" by working
I am not against support for the vulnerable. But the idea of welfare as a source of income that they "should" get a.ka "their money" makes me a but uncomfortable......
