My guess is the complaint would be laughed at and dismissed. At this time there seems to be two standards one for all the minority groups and one for the majority. Unfortunately the one for the majority is "too bad, so sad, move on".

If you are offended by a Golliwog then I believe you have some other deep seated mental issues, they come from another time, a different time, and were never designed as a method vilification.

Actually, if a claim like that was brought, and wasn't simply vexatious, then it would have to be heard seriously. And golliwogs were very much designed as a method of racial vilification.

That's true, and I have personal experience of it, but it doesn't excuse our racism.

Geez, I wish someone, who knew that, would have been around 65 years ago to explain that to my 5 year old sister who received a golliwog for a birthday present. She loved that doll! I'll now have to explain to her how disillusioned and racist she was.

Yeah, I remember a golliwog being in the toybox as a kid too. Suppose my mother must have given to us. We had a teddy bear too. As I recall it was a bit fair skinned. Obviously I see now these are the kind of toys a white supremacist would have given their kids. Never realised how much of a racist my mother was until recently.
