    coat the gasket evenly on both sides (I normally paint one side on the bench put it on the item paint the up side and then assemble holding it in place with 2 bolts or the dowls if fitted.
    we called it baby ****...it had the same colour and consistency

    NB. Do not try this at home children.
    All our Aloominum foil was used for hats. And neck ties were used to hold up the daks. Fencing wire? we flossed with it. Gollyeee!

    we called it baby ****...it had the same colour and consistency
    ....and instead of holding the nappy on with 2 bolts & dowels we used Nappy/Blanket Pins. Yer know, those big buggers of things?
