in newcastle (NSW) the was a very clean and tidy looking topless FFR! but i didn't have a camera so no pics... and there was a very nicely restored old jeep.Originally posted by Quiggers
how many LRs did you see at your ANZAC day?
cheers,

Watching tv, after having been to a few ANZAC day 'celebrations', I couldn't help but notice that the dear LR was the vehicle of choice for the carriage of those who didn't march. Our turnout did have a few (real)Jeeps and M5sixbys, but not a Toyo or Nissan in sight.
Perhaps that's why we are envyed and reviled, LRs have a true heritage, that comes from a deserved past which lives actvely to this day....

We had 1 recently restored Series 1.
Brisbane was mainly Jeeps, 1 Humvee, Studabkers etc, from the Military jeep Club.
Only saw 3 Landys all day - one Ambo, one Sigs vehicle and a Salvo's van!!
I'll be putting a post up later with a heap of pics
Morning All,
If I had a $1 for everytime the commentators refered to the vehicle as "LAND ROVER" EVERY time another person in one came down the road!
"and in this Land Rover is.... bla bla bla"
So, yep, LR got a fair few mentions during the parade...![]()
very good coverage for Anzac Day!!!
Cheers
Knight
In Armidale it was a few Mercedes Benz 280s, a Chev Impala, a Buick Skylark Convertable, a Studebaker and 1 Willys Jeep...and 1 Highway Patrol XR6 Turbo.
Not 1 Land Rover.
Maybe I should have tagged along in the Rangie.
No LR's in the Surfers Paradise parade either... but around 8 willy's![]()

I went to the Redcliffe Parade. There was a ambulance and another landy (more on this soon).
The ambulance was, I now know, owned and driven by member OLR-067.
The other one was owned and piloted by our very own Rocket aka UncleHo aka Kev. I went down to say G'day to him after the parade but he'd already scarpered :!:
Perhaps he knew I was on to him.....![]()
