    Bush bashing fun

Sorry... with homestar on this one.
Yes it’s great to go have fun, we do it as do many others here. Maybe choose your words a little more carefully.
The reason is NOTHING to do with what you you were trying to say... it’s all to do with this being a PUBLIC FORUM which is trolled by the ‘Do Gooders’ out there who have, and will continue to close tracks and campsites using comments from forums such as this one.
By all means ENJOY your landie, that’s what it’s all about.... protect your future fun by choosing your words

good grief you blokes on this forum... I simply don't have words (unusual for me)

wont bother posting here again, so sad.
Oh, and mock outrage too.👍. Just to fill you in, Bob is known for what I was on about and if you’d read some of his other posts and threads it would make more sense to you. Like all forums, you need to be prepared to be challenged on what you post, it’s no big deal, life’s like that. Despite what I have said here I hold no grudge to you or others, I get over things pretty quick. Me having a different opinion to you or others doesn’t make me, you or anyone else here right or wrong, just differing points of view on a certain subjects. ‘So sad’ means you have a different opinion and are trying to put those down who feel differently - I get that and have no issues with your ‘sadness’. 😉

Some here don’t agree with what I’ve posted here and have said so just like yourself and that’s fine, water off a ducks back. I’ll continue to challenge people where I have a strong opinion on things as do many others here, and that’s great IMO. I’m more than happy for you and anyone else to have their say, that’s the way these things go.

Don’t go just because one thread or a few posts don’t go your way. I personally never want anyone to get that ticked off. I’ve had plenty of robust discussions with people here and will continue to do so. Me and Bob have plenty of head to heads - I doubt that’s about to end, but we still have fun along the way.

I wish I was able to get out like you did. But couldn't because of a dud alternator.
While I know you don’t agree with me on the subject matter on this thread and are having a dig at me as that keyboard warrior, I actually agree 100% with your post and sentiment. 👍

There are quite a few on here that are what I would call rather conservative about all manner of things. I have been told that my caravan was inherently unsafe by a person who has never towed the same type. I have seen equipment criticised by people who never read the article posted and had no understanding of what it does. It’s pretty normal on a forum that you have those that go off half cocked but on the other hand people are very helpful here and the advice is often good.
I just see it as typical internet and let it wash over me.
I try to double check anything I post to ensure accuracy and correct anything that wasn’t right.

There is a huge difference between Bushbashing and cutting/clearing a track for use as a fire trail and booze and 4WDing is Never a great idea, Even IF the driver stays sober drunken passengers are No great asset in tough terrain.

Many of us have seen first hand the carnage done to the bush, The rubbish littered and the damage done to the tracks by drunken Yobbo's in their 4WD's and seeing a post that is Bragging about this on the forum (Even IF it was in "Jest') is in poor taste.
By all means get out there and hone your skills or simply have fun in your 4WD because that is precisely why many of us buy them But leave the Booze (Even the passengers) until you get back to camp or back home

I'm disappointed our experts didn't question the young fella [ 49 is young to me] before jumping in feet first, but that's the internet. I've driven those tracks, a little while ago, and when I drove them you would not see a drop of rubbish, people who drive them are mature 4x4 enthusiasts, if they saw some one hooning, they would pull them into line. It's a bit much for people who don't even live in the State to jump to conclusions , I'd be tempted to say pull your heads in, worry about your own patch. But I promised to be nice, so I won't.

Keep posting, it's not that bad. Keep your sense of humour, it will give you a point of difference, in a lot of circumstances.

I wouldn't worry about it Wolfriver, there was clearly nothing else to be outraged by today so you happened to cop it all. Normally the members are incredibly decent. There are quite a few on here that like to 4WD for the sake of 4WDing, its challenges and whatever. Others question if they absolutely need to go there if they need to engage 4WD. I think you may have upset the caravan brigade. Just ignore them and carry on. Hopefully you can learn something from the forum and the forum can learn something from you.
    Cheers

I read Wolf's post when it was the only one on the thread and was concerned.

Mostly with the terminology, to do with intent, etc.

Having been an exec for a sustainable high end fishing sector for a number of years and having sat on every federal and state committee related to it and other sectors, including cost recovery, has taught me a lot about maintaining access to natural resources, commercially or rec.

This includes state forests and /or NP's.

There is a massive voting block, living in the burbs, that have absolutely NFI about the natural world apart from what they see on social media.

They have NFI about what is reasonable and what is not. Unfortunately they must be pandered to, if you want to do what you sustainably do. It is not hard to 'pander' to this.

Keep it careful in a sustainable language way for a start and do the right thing, hang your hat on it, and all will continue.
