The chief cook on Vampire did have a cool sense of humor. Food colouring added to mince and mushy green peas to make a livid green on slippery paster was offered if the first day out was ROUGH.

The pic is NOT showing rough. Try Hobart in a calm day I was down there somewhere and NOT in my wet-suite

    The Callous Bastard!

Try Spencer Gulf on the RO-RO Troubridge to KI some years ago. No photo.

The Snack bar sold out of Meat Pies & Pasties while departing out of the Port River. Fine, we were all hungry, then we got out of the Outer Harbour Breakwater, different story.

Down the gulf it was rough. Me sitting behind Stbd wing of the bridge to get away from the Vomit pong in the seating area says to Crewman sheltering out of the rain & ****. "Is it usually this rough here (in between bouts of chundering)"?

Crew member. "If it was rough you wouldn't be sitting here, mate".

****ing Great, that was all I wanted to hear. I guess it is all a matter of comparisons.

A week later on the way back from KI, it was as smooth as a Millpond all the way.

Just as well my old man tore up the RAN Midshipman Entry Application forms I had sent off for. Did me a favour, but I never had a problem with sailing in Sea Scout Sea Boats or Popeye on the River Torrens(.Popeye (boat) - Wikipedia ) Funny that.

The diseasel pong being sucked into the ship through the vents didn't help much.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, really? YOU? That is sure a very striking image of your BAT J1.

Seems a bit of a Dumb Question the OoW asked, as if it matters? A Man is a Man regardless if he was overboard or Water Skiing or not. Unless he was Senior Cook with his colour Chart.

Rain Dance may have had something?

Let’s get cloud: Chinese scientists turn up the volume and make it pour

    • Team from Tsinghua University use sound energy to increase rainfall on Tibetan Plateau by up to 17 per cent
    • Researchers say technique has no detrimental impact on the environment, but more data needed to prove its efficacy
