Hamelin pool in Shark Bay WA has some very cool stromatolites which are very very old.

Now Siberia permafrost thaw has made a freaky one. Microscopic animals which were frozen when woolly mammoths walked the earth are back. Bet they might be a little hungry after not eating for 24,000 Years

The worry is, it's not just micro-animals that are thawing but viruses, pathogens, bacteria's, that we might have no immunity to.

That's a worry, but a bigger worry is there are already numerous other viruses around which could wipe out us mammals at any time. Have a read of the sites below, but be warned - you may never want to leave home again.

My OCD compelled me to find it, there's a few hours of my life I won't get back, and it is post 5071 of "Interesting, Odd, or Funny pics II".

UK Aussie free trade agreement issue- we are to cheap

"But some UK farmers have concerns there will be no meaningful safeguards in place to stop them being undercut by cheap imports."

Yep a well run farm with lots of sun and water and scale may well make things a lot more efficiency than a 5 acre farmer in the UK?

Just kidding sure some of the pommies farms are bigger than a few hectares. Google suggest 54 hectares is average in the UK. I think I see the problem, we average 4,331ha.

Come on you Aussie Farmers- stop being so good

So it will be ok when a big red faced farmer knocks on your door & tells you he's just bought a few suitable properties in your street including yours & has a bloody big bulldozer ticking over down the street & just waiting on the word to get clearing?

Just kidding J1 Hang on a mo, whats that loud rumbling out side your driveway & grass Tennis court?

Farms are gradually being developed for Greenfields Housing in the UK & one day there will not be a Green & Pleasant land to visit let alone farm, a bit like what is happening in Oz.

I see the UK-Australia free trade deal includes the abolition of the current 5% tariff Australia applies to British passenger vehicles, including SUVs, so that may mean cheaper Land Rovers, unless JLR decides to pocket the saving rather than to pass it on to consumers.

As if? Don't hold your breath Mick. Remember the Oz Budget some years back (seems like forever) when the GST was to be introduced? "Great", we thought, Wine will be cheaper. Deduct the then tax on wine & add 10% Fab.

Oh Yeah? They introduced a Wine Equalization Tax which pushed the price up again.
