Did a fish survey in a small Mornington bayside creek about 5 years ago. Bit of dip netting then set the gear. Water came out of a stormwater drain up top and flowed across the sand to the bay down the bottom, crystal clear.

It rained a bit that night and the next day the whole bed of the creek and the gear was black. Fish unharmed.

Took awhile to realise it was rubber dust washed off upstream roads.

Right up the top the water was bright blue............ dunno what that was........ ad blue washed off the roads?
