Methhead and police firearms- Secured NOT

    Not shocked by the shocking?

Picked up a welfare check. Handcuffed and in the back of a police car. Sounds fine except loaded police AR15 rifle in easy reach - what could go wrong?

IDJITS! She must have the eyes of a Snail to see what she was doing assuming they had cuffed her with her hands behind, after all, the Rifle could have been pointing at her aris.

Like the bit about learning lessons from what happened.

The button to release the gun was clearly labeled and within reach. Are going to move the release button and not label it

The answer is on a box of Redheads if one is so inclined.

Maybe this is what you are alluding to?
Speaking of matches, last week I heard a funny story about a guy who got a new car years ago when 12V cigarette lighters came out, he lit his 1st cigarette with it while driving, and then threw it out of the window just like he would've done with a match!

When I first read this i thought for a moment that he threw the cigarette out - but then it dawned on me that it was the lighter! I strongly suspect that the story is an urban legend.

As far as I can remember, the first cigarette lighters came out before WW2, but were not common until much later. The first one I actually encountered was in my father's 1959 Simca Vedette, but by then they were becoming more common.

John, my uncle had a Simca, around the same time as your father. From memory, it had a 'Dual Horn' setting i.e. loud and louder.

I dont know what sort of firearm training the Police get around here, but from what i have seen it isn't the best.

A while ago i saw two officers trying to shoot a badly injured wallaby that couldnt move, on the side of the road. After around 8 shots, the poor thing was eventually dead.
There were also people walking around in front of where they were shooting, behind the animal, which would be in one of the first lessons in basic firearm safety.

I knew a bloke who went through the Police Academy, when they were still using. 38s.
He said the training was as follows:
    1. Only use your firearm if absolutely necessary.
    2. If using your firearm, get as close as possible to the target.
    3. Take very careful aim.
    4. Throw your firearm as hard as possible, at the target.
That is the most effective use of a .38 Police Special.

    Safety??

Anyway, item 4,maybe they did that to that guy the other day, somewhere in the suburbs, after they shot him 4 times, and he is in hospital, but not critically injured?
Apparently he came at them with a knife.
That is if one can believe the media.....

After the Wallaby incident,in my post above,i picked up a few of the shells, still have them, they are .38.
