There would have been no point as the shrapnel would be mitigated by the water, but the concussion would have been felt by the "Minnows". Float to the surface ready for the frying pan
    Job done.

I suspect it would have been whatever was handy. No rods, lines & hooks just a couple of 'nades in the pouches. Some one posted a pic on here recently of a Grenade found near a dam somewhere in Oz(?). No Germans or Japanese around that I could see in the pic but a well rusted & complete Grenade that some one mislaid while fishing.

I suppose they could have been cammoed though.

    Fosbury Flop

Most of us have done it or tried it

Vale Dick. Greater heights by going backwards . Inspiring

"Dick Fosbury: The athlete who developed the 'Fosbury Flop' dies aged 76

    " Link BBC

Other trivia is "Fosbury set a then record of 2.24 metres using his method." at the Mexico Olympics in 1968. It is only 21 cm more now!

I could clear 1.92 when aged 14. No way I am trying it now

Last Friday was the anniversary of Alexander Graham Bell, being granted a patent for the telephone, in 1876.
Surely he invented two, one's not much use, alone.

Oh, I dunno.. when mobiles first appeared there were many folk talking to themselves, desperate to seem important.

    Neither have I.

I've called to them, emailed to them, sent pictures and vids to them, messages, web links, etc as well.

Hot Cross buns boxing day was bad- Now the BOM

"The Bureau of Meteorology has today simultaneously declared the end of La Niña and an El Niño Watch, indicating a potential rapid shift to hot, dry weather in 2023. "
An '''El Nino Watch''' has been declared — here'''s what that could mean for Australia'''s weather in 2023 - ABC News

Give it a break for a week or two!

On the other hand, Banjo P got it right 'Droughts and flooding rains" I used to think that was over a few year period
