He took a friend one day with him who liked the idea and decided to copy it, so this ‘friend’ went out to the local reservoir, found a nice spot with plenty of snags and tired to do the same thing, only he used an entire stick!! Things went south very quick as he stopped his boat motor to prepare everything, and after he dropped it it the motor wouldn’t fire up, it blew the boat over, he finished up a tree and he had a LOT of explaining to do to the parks & fisheries officer, also paying a large contribution to the Government.

In WW2 Aussie Soldiers apparently did that with Mills Bombs. (Hand Grenades.) Maybe some still do.

Rumor has it the older version of my Anti Submarine weapons were very effective for collecting fish if used in the right location

I sincerely doubt that any fish would have been any good to eat after a shock like that.

Yes, I don't suppose they would have hand fed the fish & dropped it on their bonce when they swam close. Anywhere within a reasonable range would have knocked them for six in water by concussion.

I guess they wouldn't have been trying for Shrapnel damage.

You’re supposed to expect pellets in pheasant, not phlathead
