Vera’s Defender 90 is an auto.

I noticed it last night when I caught a glimpse of the PRNDL and gearlever.

Vera's SW is starting to look quite shabby of late, even for Vera.

I look forward to that Prog even though I find her accent a bit bloody hard to follow sometimes. Brenda in real life doesn't speak like that Luv.

From memory way back at the start of the series the Land Rover Vera drives was rebuilt as it came from a relative. An auto is an unusual conversion so might have been mentioned

The stunned fish then had to be retrieved which made my Cousin bauk as one of the properties rivers was shark infested.
Some one I used to know (now deceased) used to go fishing with those “brown sticks” however he only ever used a very small charge, he said it was only enough to stun them, not kill them, even the birds of prey started to know the sound and would come for a free “fast food collection”. He took a friend one day with him who liked the idea and decided to copy it, so this ‘friend’ went out to the local reservoir, found a nice spot with plenty of snags and tired to do the same thing, only he used an entire stick!! Things went south very quick as he stopped his boat motor to prepare everything, and after he dropped it it the motor wouldn’t fire up, it blew the boat over, he finished up a tree and he had a LOT of explaining to do to the parks & fisheries officer, also paying a large contribution to the Government.
