This makes the sort of election rigging that is done by making it hard to vote almost impossible, where the USA and many other countries have made this into an art.
Worth remembering that the secret ballot used to be known as the Australian ballot, as this is where it was first used for parliamentary elections.
			
		 
	 
 While I agree with most of that, the fact that the AEC ( in their own words) stated that while placing a Tick in the box on the ballot paper would be seen as a valid vote cast, placing a Cross in that same box would not is possibly a good reason to question their independence.
