THe old international harvesters are indirect injection, so require lots of glow plugs. Mine a 434. apparently if you want easy starting, you should buy the fergi 135 diesel with the 3cylinder diesel (in the old 40hp size )

Yup, those Perkins engines in the Massey Ferguson’s are good starters ,

and the 1/2 Perkins in some Fords.
