If it was me the bike would go, but each to his own.
It looks like my wife, owing to medical issues, won't be able to drive for up to a year. We can't justify keeping both her 2009 turbo Forester, my 2003 L322, and my Yamaha XJR1300. It makes sense that the L322 will be the vehicle to go even though I much prefer driving it over the Suby. The XJR may also go.
I shall have to pull my finger out and fix a couple of minor things on the L322 and get it ready for sale.

Can't you surrender the rego and sideline the Subie for a year, Ron?
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
Am sorry to hear Ron...not fair when you have to make decisions like this as we get older.
I really feel for you..I hope all goes well with Your better half...![]()

The actual Rego (not CTP) is free - we're pensioners - but running costs, insurance, etc, add up. The bike should go, I don't ride it very often, and not at all in summer. Rego has to be paid on it.
Thanks for the best wishes, Brad. Hopefully, she'll be home from hospital tomorrow.

Regards and best wishes to Elizabeth.

Over here you can declare a vehicle off the road and pay no road tax . During that time it cannot be used on a public road or you are liable for the tax. As it is not being used you do not have to have insurance or get it's annual road worthiness test done. I did it and put the vehicle up on blocks under the axles and "drove" it in situ to keep everything right mechanically.
But more importantly best regards to your wife. Think of all of those miles you two have covered together. When your vehicle breaks down you miss it but when your nearest and dearest gets sick it does put those Land Rover rattles and squeaks into perspective.
Best wishes.
Sorry to hear that Ron. I hope your better half makes a good recovery.
Your plan is sensible. The Turbo Forester is a nice vehicle.
