Driving in Bali has its hazards

Australian woman hits balinese scooter rider head on. Could spend years in jail.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

From what I've read in the past tourist drivers are the biggest danger on Bali roads. Must be WA drivers going there......

Living there she must know the local driving conditions. the video shows she had plenty of time to make a decision to effect a different outcome. Sun in the eyes? distracted by a phone ? Who knows. She was in the wrong.

Indo in general is a hazardous place to drive/ride, Bali is bad but not as bad as the likes of Jakarta. Anywhere you go in Indo locals if they have been to Bali say you have to watch out for the "Ugly Australian". Drunk, drug addled people riding scooters badly. Indonesian folk are genery very courteous and well manered, seems drunk Australians don't reciprocate.

Hmmm, my wife and i did a 1200k road trip around Bali 2 up with luggage on a 125 cc scooter. The scariest moments were other tourists. Usually other scooter riders though who think its cool to do 80kph with a surfboard under one arm when everyone else is doing 40kph.

Without wanting to say she was in the right...

once over a certain speed arent bikes ment to be in single file?

if the first bike had time to react and get out of the way why didnt the other?

From what I recall on my bike course and other bits and pieces theres a heap the scooter rider could have done that would have had a different outcome...

still wouldnt make her any less in the wrong for attempting what is at best a dangerous overtaking manouver. and with the crap I see on a daily basis over here...

throw the book at her. Write the sequel and throw that one too.
