    Yes - but perhaps there should also be a caution for companies suing for bad reviews; in at least some cases this sort of action has blown up in their face.

    something odd here.
    the defendant made no defense and had default judgement made against him.

    Probably failed to turn up in court. Most likely assumed "they can't be serious!"

    It.appears he did not file a Defence. You can get judgment in default in such circumstances with the damagea to be assessed. Default judgments can set aside for good reasons.
