I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

When looking at the "Current Bushfires" site, the question has to be asked as to how some fires started.

    External use of
    such
things as grinders, welders and even using mowers, is fraught with danger at this time of the year and as for flicking durries out the car window, these people should be equipped with a fire beater and sent to the front line

I put the fire fighting tank on the 'tilly a few days ago now, in an attempt to thwart Mr. Murphy!

Yes not good at all. My in-laws live in Stanthorpe and were told to evacuate to Warwick. It's been very dry there and the the other thing that makes it worse is there is very little water for the town. I hope they get it under control quick.

I was in Stanthorpe last night, we drove up the range un-aware.

Our friends live near The Summit on a bush block. He was out fighting the fires until 6am this morning. We could see the glow getting closer and by midnight we could sleep easier. It was interesting getting low down from a volunteer fire fighter this morning. Have heard he is back on the front line tonight.

We continue on to Mt Kaputar via Texas going around stanthorpe, figured they didn’t need an extra tourists.

At 6 this morning as far as my mate knew there was no property loses, although there were some damaged houses but they were saved......including his parents, quite an amazing story he told us on just how close it nearly went up in smoke. His parents are away, he didnt get a chance to see if there was any heat damage as he had to race to the next property.

The word hero is thrown around a lot these days, your mate and his fellow volunteers are worthy of the label, IMO.
