Inc I like the new Intro page (Portal). The blue is easier on the eyes.

Keep it as it is.

Hi Inc,
I voted NO thinking that the portal meant having the forums inside the border of the portal, but after having read that this is only temporary, the portal is OK

Okies then
Could someone explain this RSS feed thingo to me
Do I need it?
Why can't I see it?
Should I have missed not having it?
Will it make my fora experience richer?

Hi Ralph,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(protocol)

But if you want it in English... Basically an RSS feed from a site can be read by an RSS client (another program ) so that a quick round up of new items... like head lines is available - you can then click on these to go to the original page.

It will not feed all the forum posts ( I suspect) - I assume Inc will have if just feeding the front page news - stuff like the G4 info on the portal.

In my case I work at a pc all day - and I run an RSS client in the background that alerts me to updates on a variety of websites - including my Antivirus vendor, Microsoft security updates etc.

Unless you spend a lot of time on a PC - but not on here...... chances are you don't need it.

Cheers, Mark

Inc. - feel free to fill in any gaps I missed

A seperate page for the Forums preferred.

and

correct the spelling of "Australian" before Ron sees it

Currently spelt "Autralian" in four places
[/b][/quote]

I was giving Inc a bit of leeway until he sorted the other issues on the site.

On a separate issue, corredt the spelling of "avaliable" in the help files (several times).

Another fix urgently required: Open the help screens in a new window. If one is typing up a post then selects Help, one loses the page on which one is working. Hitting the back button doesn't recover the text you laboriously entered. Ask me how I know.
