As a self funded retiree my income far exceeds what I was earning when I was working and a bonus is that I am also completely debt free. Though in some years I do go backward when equities go backward.

However when I was working I was salary sacrificing up to 60% of my pay into a private super fund so that I can fund my retirement - this is in addition to the compulsory super contributions.

That is the problem when people are working - they only pay the minimum into their super and wonder why it is not enough when they retire - or they think I will just get the pension and dont bother at all. I only ever contributed what I could and did not go short but many people are happy to dispose of any excess income knowing my taxes will coverv them in their retirement.

And I salary sacrificed the maximum possible, as did The Navigator, for a long time to prepare for retirement. I can't understand why some people don't plan better for their future. We were better off while working because we planned than if we had done nothing to plan.

OK a bit late in the piece and really a backpacker rort .

Arrive at National Park with fees at 7 PM after ranger has gone home, leave before 9 when ranger starts duty. The stealing fire and playing loud music until 11PM or when told to **** off is optional.

Alternatively, get advice on caravan parks without boom gates and do same. Had a single mother do this at Magnolia at Yeppoon.
