I've got far more free money now my savings are released than when I was working.

As a self funded retiree my income far exceeds what I was earning when I was working and a bonus is that I am also completely debt free. Though in some years I do go backward when equities go backward.

However when I was working I was salary sacrificing up to 60% of my pay into a private super fund so that I can fund my retirement - this is in addition to the compulsory super contributions.

That is the problem when people are working - they only pay the minimum into their super and wonder why it is not enough when they retire - or they think I will just get the pension and dont bother at all. I only ever contributed what I could and did not go short but many people are happy to dispose of any excess income knowing my taxes will coverv them in their retirement.

That is MAZDA not Westinghouse, you should know that.

BTW, did you hear about the bloke who opened his fridge door only to see a little mouse sitting on the shelf?

Bloke says "Hey Mouse what you doing here bro?

Mouse says "This is a Westinghouse ain't it mate?" "

    Bloke says Yes it is."

    Mouse... "Well I'm westing".

An olde fridgie tail so don't fret if you don't get it.

I get it. Grey nomad stingy money saving habits

And I salary sacrificed the maximum possible, as did The Navigator, for a long time to prepare for retirement. I can't understand why some people don't plan better for their future. We were better off while working because we planned than if we had done nothing to plan.

OK a bit late in the piece and really a backpacker rort .

Arrive at National Park with fees at 7 PM after ranger has gone home, leave before 9 when ranger starts duty. The stealing fire and playing loud music until 11PM or when told to **** off is optional.

Alternatively, get advice on caravan parks without boom gates and do same. Had a single mother do this at Magnolia at Yeppoon.

It does become a little difficult when touring and you don’t want a fixed schedule to be able to book and pay.

We always keep some cash for the places that still have envelopes....but sometimes there isn’t mobile reception to book. We have at times made payment after we’ve left when we get reception.

For example, Fraser Island is a pain.....as it’s broken into zones and you have to book in the correct zone. Our last 10 day trip we paid in advance for the nine nights and tried to pick the zones we would be in, from memory we were only in the correct zone three nights.
