    How do they do it?

Wot you may ask? Parking & strange happenings..

Went out yesterday with 'er indoors, me driving. Get to this large car park I look to go straight ahead into the maelstrom, when she blurts out "Turn right" & then "Left" & lo & behold there was just one space in a row of 6 that was vacant & the rest of the visible car park was absolutely full.. It could not have been seen when we drove in & afterwards I walked back to the entrance to make sure, sure enough from the CX-3 being on the low-ish side I could not see that space. Even in the D1 I doubt I could have seen it there being trees & shrubs in the way.

"So bloody wot?" I hear you murmur.

Well, she has this uncanny knack of finding a space when all around her is chokkas. Not just when I am with her but with friends as well (They call it her Parking Fairy). Me, I'd say "bugger it" & drive around for another 1000 km to try & find one. Usually 'Rock Star' parking as well.

She does this constantly so I'm thinking maybe she has some "Magical Powers".

Another uncanny thing is, she has a locket with a photo of her late favourite Aunt Marion in it. She died about 40 years ago in Seaton, Devon in the UK. I never met her but I know the history, but she owned a Pub so it stands to reason she was an OK Girl & looked after 'er indoors during WW2.

When she knows someone is having a seriously bad time with an illness, she "talks" to her Aunt "in private" during that person's illness & she ain't lost one yet. She won't do it for herself only for me, family & close friends.

Nothing loony like or owt & no traces or wacky surrounding circumstances or puffs of smoke etc.

Just thought I'd share this because it is a mystery to me how it works..

Do you have any tales like this to relate. I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for listening, you've been a great audience.

Yep, been there, done that. I come from a family (my mum's side) where strange things like this happen on a regular basis. For instance, when I was a teen, my mum made us pack up to go home early on at least three different holidays - once even in the middle of the night. All she said was so-and-so needed us home. Each time, by the time we were ready to go, we got word that the person she mentioned was either very sick, or had died and we needed to get home pronto. We complained each time but dad just said 'listen to your mother, we are going home'. He had seen it all before. The one he hates is when he does something stupid while driving (not stopping at a stop sign, turning where he shouldn't, etc) and mum tells him she wishes a cop turned up and busted him to teach him a lesson. Each and every time she has told him not to drive like a muppet, he has got busted. He follows the road rules now!

Personally, I get this gut feeling that it is a persons time to move on - usually within a day or two. It has happened so often I just go with it now and shut my mouth as it tends to scare people! A girl I was dating saw me do this several times. Not long after we broke up she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the first thing she asked me when I saw her was 'did I get that vibe about her'? I told her no, and with that she stopped freaking out. Apparently she had stage 4 cancer and was told her prognosis was bad - not the thing to tell a nurse working on the Oncology Ward! Anyway, more than 20 years later we still joke about it.

There are a lot more stories, from me, my mum, my two aunts and one of my cousins. I have long accepted that weird stuff happens so that I consider it entirely normal!

My mother in law used to pray for parking spaces, usually successfully.

Well my wife who is a relatively devout catholic always says,
"Hail Mary full of Grace help us find a parking space"
    It nearly always works.
    Maybe you should try it!

I'm one of the lucky ones as far as parking spots go. I'm usually able to find a parking spot near the front door of the place I need to be. When I was about 18 or 19 one of my jobs was to go into Victoria Market on Saturday morning and pick up my mother and every week I'd get the same spot in Peel St. Never had to go around the block and as if by magic "my" spot was vacant. This was back in the days when the parking was free and unlimited.
I still have the talent some 45 years later..

'er indoors tells me when I query it, that it is Positive Thinking.

Reaally I mean...... I can't see brainwaves moving a 1 tonne vehicle so she can park in that spot. They wouldn't be strong enough to even take it out of gear, well mine wouldn't.

Between you me & the gatepost, I also have very strong feelings from time to time about 2 special people from my past & really do wonder whether they are seriously ill or what, but there is no way I can contact them to voice my concerns.

    Cest la vie

Grand mother would always know if someone was sick and would be on phone before anyone had spoken to her. Also used to know when a baby had arrived and when someone had departed this world.

Always said it was both blessing and a curse as could not control what she saw. Read cousins tea leaves and dropped cup as saw the death of a blue eyed man. Cousins husband was listed as missing a in Greece at time. He turned up OK was her own husband who did not.

Could also devine for water which was very useful for finding water pipes

At Castle Hill Plaza now they have number plate recognition so as you go in they record the plate and if you are detected going out after 3 hours , the boom drops and you have to get out the credit card. Ditto Rouse Hill which also has all the lights , which I like I must say.
Gets a bit scary doesn't it.
