Yep, been there, done that. I come from a family (my mum's side) where strange things like this happen on a regular basis. For instance, when I was a teen, my mum made us pack up to go home early on at least three different holidays - once even in the middle of the night. All she said was so-and-so needed us home. Each time, by the time we were ready to go, we got word that the person she mentioned was either very sick, or had died and we needed to get home pronto. We complained each time but dad just said 'listen to your mother, we are going home'. He had seen it all before. The one he hates is when he does something stupid while driving (not stopping at a stop sign, turning where he shouldn't, etc) and mum tells him she wishes a cop turned up and busted him to teach him a lesson. Each and every time she has told him not to drive like a muppet, he has got busted. He follows the road rules now!
Personally, I get this gut feeling that it is a persons time to move on - usually within a day or two. It has happened so often I just go with it now and shut my mouth as it tends to scare people! A girl I was dating saw me do this several times. Not long after we broke up she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the first thing she asked me when I saw her was 'did I get that vibe about her'? I told her no, and with that she stopped freaking out. Apparently she had stage 4 cancer and was told her prognosis was bad - not the thing to tell a nurse working on the Oncology Ward! Anyway, more than 20 years later we still joke about it.
There are a lot more stories, from me, my mum, my two aunts and one of my cousins. I have long accepted that weird stuff happens so that I consider it entirely normal!
