Drove back from Cloncurry on Sunday through 3 monumental storms, down to 10kph in places as I couldn't see the end of the bonnet.
Unfortunately I was not driving the D2 but a X-Trail, want to see if the D2 still leaks?
Yesterday we got a storm trough at about 11am then steady rain for the rest of the day & into the night.
We need it, the mighty Nicholson is almost dry & that is where the towns water comes from. Doomadgee keeps getting bigger but the river doesn't!

Was raining lightly when I left for town this morning - but on the way home at lunchtime I was kicking up dust. I checked the gauge at 0600, but not enough to measure, will check again tomorrow, but I doubt there has been 1mm.

Only 2mm so far this week, and looks like no more today. But there have been a bunch of small storms all over the eastern half of NSW. Yesterday lost internet during a zoom meeting when a storm got between here and the satellite, and again this morning. Lost TV due to a storm near Coona last night - probably the same one that a property reported 170mm this morning.
Whatever happens , be careful.
