So far I have had 31mm in the gauge for this latest cold front But interestingly the weather station at Geraldton airport has only recorded 10.2mm from 0630 11/06/20 to 0500 13/06/20.
It rained that hard yesterday morning that the water was overflowing the gutters in places because it couldn't get down the 100mm downpipes quick enough and all my tanks are now at least half full![]()

Nothing here in Westlake , all we have had all day is sun shine .Will see what tomorrow brings , I think as much chance as winning lotto from the looks of the sky & I don't buy tickets in it either.
It clouded over today, and is supposed to rain overnight. We'll see!

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
I used to have an old Jayco "Dove" camper which was a royal PITA to set up and the awning nearly caused WW3 when we set it up and I Hated the bloody thing But was quite comfortable for what it was and it was our first introduction to caravans.
We put up with it for a couple of years and upgraded to the Expanda.
The expander is very comfortable But there is still a bit of work to do when setting up because you have to drop down the beds which takes about 5min of easy work.
The awning comes out with the touch of a button (electric) and one side also slides out electrically as well.
The van is 20' long but with the beds out it is 28' so there is Heaps of room inside with plenty of cupboard space and a double wardrobe as well
Much MUCH easier than a camper trailer to set up and with the reverse air con running it doesnt matter how hot/cold it is outside.
We did get some dust in the van initially but taping up the vent at the bottom of the door stopped that.
I do find the dunny/shower to be a bit cramped getting in and out of the door But then again I am a pretty fat bastard and it is WAY better than having to use the shower/dunny tent we used to have to use with the Dove and the constant supply of hot water is a godsend as well.
The chassis and running gear is very strong so is the rest of the van and we have had no problems towing it over really crappy/corrugated roads or bush tracks, However it IS pretty heavy at a bit over 3t with the 3x water tanks full and loaded up and this is why I bought the 79 series V8 which tows it with ease and I can store heaps of gear/food/water/fuel/fridges in the canopy of the truck instead of adding that weight to the van.
Over all I am pretty happy with the Expanda![]()
I still do fishing trips away just using a swag and if staying a few days I will set up a tent as well But if the missus comes along the Jayco HAS to come.

Thanks Trout, yeah SWMBO needs some comfort [ so do I , nowadays] We've been looking around , plenty of Chinese derivatives, some of the Aussie built ones cost more than our house when we bought it. Our plan is getting the grandkids involved as they get older, make some memories. Weight is the problem, Our old D2 is long in the tooth, going really well [ now I've done it] but I wouldn't like to push it. I really like some of the new Hybrids, our main requirement is toilet & shower, and just open the door, lift the roof , open the fridge type setup. The plan, as such as it is, is that in a van park we probably wouldn't need the tanks full, just drinking/cooking water, the occasional bush trip for the missus and I would require decent planning, but that's half the fun. This virus thing has changed the wife's mind, we have a bit saved up, which was untouchable before, but now she said' you can't take it with you' . I nearly fell off the chair. So, strike while the iron is hot [ or she changes her mind. ]We will not rush.

Yes it was, there was two claps of thunder that caused the dog to want to come in
, about 15mins of rain , a bit heaver than a shower & now about 1/2 hr later the sun is trying to come out.
. No rain over night but must have had a heavy due because everything was damp this morning even all the pavers under the pergola that is about 5m wide so guessing that would have put a couple of drops into the empty tanks . I have two 3000L tanks two empty the 3rd with a couple of hundred litres left that I use to water the pot plants.
Hopping to get a little more this afternoon but I think i am being optimistic.
