Pretty certain it has - August is usually the coldest month. And, OK, we are two thirds of the way through August, but I would not be really surprised by snow in the Blue Mountains any time in this month.

This morning, adding this morning's 2mm to the rainfall chart, I noticed that there have been twelve wet days so far this month. Last time that happened was 2016, and before that 2009.

We have had the best rains for 3yrs at the property,SW Qld,fantastic wheat crop in,hardly a roo, pig,fox or cat, to be seen.Sheep are lambing well, many with twins, which often happens after a drought.

One of the neighbours has done extremely well, they planted 134000 acres of wheat, and its the best crop for 30yrs.

Twelve months ago they shot 10000 roos, that hardly put a dent in the population, today there are only a handful on the place. The drought sorted them out.As have the exclusion fences.

Had it as late as October when I was living there:

PS: I think my profile pic is my dark blue D4 covered in snow from this very dusting...everyone thinks it was white.
    Cheers,

Fantastic. Thanks for that. Not quite a white xmas, but close.

    ?

Really! 134,000 acres is just over 200 square miles. Is that correct?

Sure is,one of the largest wheat growers in the state.
The property is owned by one of the biggest land holders in the country.
Over the years, they have gradually bought up some of the neighbouring properties.
It is also now almost completely fenced with what they call exclusion fences.
Cattle are run on some areas of the property that are not suitable for wheat.

Thanks Paul. Just where about is it, or rainfall area?

WA has some BIG operators, but a lot of it is on leased land. The following bloke was the King and as I no longer live there I was unaware that he had sold out:
